Early Years
At Hugh Myddelton, we are committed to giving our children the best possible start to their school life and making sure every child’s earliest experience of education is the best it can be.
Our Early Years consists of our Nursery (for pupils aged 2+) and Reception classes (which pupils can join the September after they turn 4). Our curriculum is designed to support individual children’s needs and to further develop their learning and extend their interests.
We provide a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can learn, play and grow. We want all of our children to be independent and inquisitive learners. We place great emphasis on supporting children to develop their confidence and self-esteem and to realise their full potential. Children are encouraged to explore and investigate, to question and to develop their own ideas. We work in partnership with parents, carers and families to ensure their well-being now, and success in the future.
By the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage, our intent is to ensure that all of our children, regardless of their starting points, make rapid progress and are equipped with the skills and knowledge to have a smooth transition into Year 1 and the foundation stones are laid for a successful and healthy life beyond.
We are committed to giving our children the best possible start to their school life. We work in partnership with parents, carers and families to ensure their well-being now and success in the future.
