Pupil Premium and Catch Up Funding
Purpose of Pupil Premium
Pupil premium is funding to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England. Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils.
For the 2024 to 2025 financial year, schools will receive the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years:
- £1,480 for primary-aged pupils
Schools also received £2,570 for each pupil who:
- has been looked after for 1 day or more
- has been adopted from care
- has left care under: a special guardianship order, a residence order or a child arrangement order.
